Treasury Associate – Bussum

We are currently recruiting a Treasury Associate (m/f/x), to enforce our treasury department. This person will be based in Bussum as part of our Central Services team. The Central Services team is located in Antwerp (Belgium), Barcelona (Spain), Bussum (the Netherlands), Hamburg and Munich (Germany) and London (the United Kingdom), and consists of more than 50 specialists who are responsible for the legal, reporting, accounting, tax, investor relations, technology, HR, responsible investment and marketing functions of Waterland.

What will be your impact?

As a Treasury Associate you will be working on operational tasks within the treasury department related to processing invoices and employee expenses. Key responsibilities are:

  • Process and verify incoming supplier invoices, ensuring accuracy and proper approval;
  • Entering invoice data into invoice processing system;
  • Prepare and reconcile payment runs;
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner;
  • Maintain accurate and organized accounts payable records and documentation;
  • Respond to vendor inquiries and maintain positive working relationships;
  • Review and process employee expense claims in line with company travel and expense policy;
  • Ensure timely reimbursement of employee expenses;
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, tax regulations (e.g., VAT) and company policies.
  • The Treasury Associate will report to the Head of Treasury, based in the Netherlands.

Be your true self:

We are seeking candidates (m/f/x) who can meet the following requirements:

  • Higher education in accounting or related fields (or equivalent experience);
  • Working experience has a preference. Preferably with a working background within a similar role;
  • Familiarity with accounting/ERP and/or expense tools, and basic accounting knowledge;
  • Good understanding of VAT and invoice requirements (especially in EU context);
  • High degree of professional ethics and integrity;
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills;
  • Profound knowledge of Dutch and English.
