Julian Swinkels is Senior ESG Associate at Waterland in Bussum. As a climate specialist, Julian works mainly on the ‘E’ topics within ESG at both Waterland itself and the portfolio companies.

Before joining Waterland, he worked in the ESG team at PwC where he also specialized in topics such as carbon accounting and decarbonization. He also worked as a researcher at the International Center for Future Generations. He earned his Master’s degree in Environment, Politics & Society at University College London and his Bachelor’s degree in Liberal, Arts & Sciences at University College Utrecht.

In addition, Julian co-founded two startups: CarbonCancel, a B2C carbon offsetting platform and Climate Marketplace, one that pairs startups with positive impact with investors.
