SIDG enters the UK market with the acquisition of i-ingredients

Paris, 26 February 2026 – Specialty Ingredients Distribution Group (SIDG), the pan-European strategic alliance of specialty ingredients and chemicals distributors, announces the acquisition of i-ingredients, a UK-based distributor focused on the fast-growing nutraceuticals market. This transaction marks SIDG’s first acquisition in the United Kingdom and a significant milestone in its international expansion strategy.

Founded in 2012 by Inderpal Saraw, i-ingredients was built to supply high-quality, innovative nutraceutical ingredients. Today, i-ingredients offers a carefully selected range of probiotics, exclusive clinically proven active ingredients, and certified organic botanicals.

Beyond supplying ingredients, i-ingredients supports its partners with practical formulation guidance and regulatory expertise, helping nutraceutical brands and contract manufacturers bring products to market with confidence.

The acquisition enables SIDG to enter the highly competitive and strategically important UK market, one of Europe’s most dynamic specialty ingredients environments — and further strengthens the Group’s Life Sciences offering.

Hans Udo Wenzel, Chairman of SIDG, said: “The acquisition of i-ingredients represents a key milestone for SIDG. Establishing this presence in the UK, one of Europe’s most competitive and innovative specialty ingredients markets, will further enhance the synergies already existing within our Life Sciences activities across SIDG’s partner companies and will allow us to offer producers a truly European network of strong local champions.”
Hervé Ory-Lavollée, CEO of SIDG, added: “Inderpal and his team have built a high-quality, entrepreneurial business with deep nutraceutical expertise. Their strong market positioning and regulatory know-how perfectly complement our existing capabilities and will accelerate our development in Life Sciences.”

From his perspective Inderpal Saraw, Founder and Managing Director of i-ingredients, commented: “Joining SIDG is an exciting new chapter for i-ingredients. We share a common entrepreneurial spirit and long-term vision. Becoming part of a strong pan-European group will allow us to expand our supplier network, broaden our service offering and unlock new cross-border opportunities, while maintaining the agility and customer focus that define our success in the UK market.”

In line with SIDG’s distinctive model, i-ingredients will continue to operate under the leadership of Inderpal Saraw, ensuring continuity and local market proximity, while benefiting from the Group’s international reach, shared resources and commercial synergies.
Supported by Waterland Private Equity and led by its founding families and long-term management team, SIDG continues to execute its buy-and-build strategy, strengthening its presence in key European markets.
