Waterland Ireland’s first exit in the Irish market: Mullingar-Headquartered Wtech Fire Group acquired by US-listed API Group

Dublin, April 20, 2026 – Wtech Fire Group (Wtech), one of Europe’s largest specialist fire protection, detection and maintenance companies, has entered into a definitive agreement to be acquired by APi Group Corporation (NYSE: APG) (“APi” or the “Company”), a US-listed global, market-leading business services provider of fire and life safety, security, elevator and escalator, and specialty services with over 500 locations worldwide.

The transaction is expected to close in the second half of 2026, subject to customary closing conditions, including receipt of required regulatory approvals.

Headquartered in Mullingar, Writech, the cornerstone of Wtech Fire Group, was founded in 1985 and has grown substantially in that time – driven by its unwavering commitment to growth, innovation and operational excellence. The Group now employs more than 800 people and is expected to contribute approximately $175 million in annual revenue. It operates across a number of key markets including the UK, Ireland, Sweden, Norway and Germany, serving a global roster of blue-chip clients across sectors such as, commercial, industrial, power substations, data centres and renewable energy.

As fire sprinkler and suppression services present a key growth opportunity within APi’s international business, the acquisition of Wtech meaningfully enhances APi’s capabilities in this area and positions the Company to offer customers a more comprehensive, end-to-end fire and life safety solution across Europe.

This transaction marks Waterland Ireland’s first exit, following the beginning of its partnership with Wtech in 2021 to support an ambitious growth programme. Since then, Wtech has scaled significantly, completing 12 strategic acquisitions and building a leading international fire safety platform, underpinned by strong organic growth and a clear buy-and-build strategy.
