Waterland achieves a successful first exit in Denmark through the sale of Envidan to Ramboll

Copenhagen, 7 January 2026 – European private equity firm Waterland has agreed to sell its majority stake in Envidan to Ramboll , marking Waterland’s first exit in Denmark after a successful buy & build strategy. The transaction represents an important milestone in Waterland’s Nordic approach and demonstrates the firm’s ability to build highly attractive, scalable leaders. 

In just five years, Envidan has undergone a significant transformation, evolving from a predominantly Danish consulting engineering firm into a leading Nordic water specialist offering advisory services supplemented by innovative software solutions.

By positioning Envidan as a sustainable engineering specialist, with a focus on climate adaptation, water resilience, and nature restoration, the company has become a highly relevant actor in addressing urgent societal and environmental challenges across the Nordics.
